Stargazer Cannabis Festival will bring the weed elite to Ohio

This summer, the Ohio cannabis community has more than legalization to celebrate. The Stargazer Cannabis Festival promises camping, contests, weed education, and harmonious vibes. While live music, bonfire sunset seshes, and scavenger hunts are a fun draw, the event is about more than just a good time.

The Stargazer Festival takes place from July 26 to 28 this year at Wisteria Event Center in Pomeroy, Ohio. The party started as a fundraising effort for the Sensible Movement Coalition (SMC), longtime advocates for cannabis reform in the Buckeye State. The group famously authored the Sensible Marijuana Ordinance (SMO), an initiative to reduce local possession penalties adopted by 30 municipalities. While that’s badass, it’s not as exciting as a weekend campout with the Ohio weed community.

Those who attend Stargazer this year will enjoy education on growing at home, cannabis cooking, and legalization information before the kickoff bonfire at sunset. The Cannabis Farmers Market will be open all weekend, so visitors can pop in before walking the miles of nature trails, honor the sacred sites like the faerie shrine in the surrounding hills, or hang at the heartbeat of camp: the fire.

There will be planned activities on Saturday, July 27, like a RAW joint rolling contest, a scavenger hunt, and more workshops. Everyone will likely congregate at 4:20 pm for a smoke sesh before the live music.

Recovery-focused rapper Matt Keegan will join the stage that night along with reggae-rock ensemble Andy Shaw Band and headliner Reddy Redd. Entertainment will culminate with a Reddy Redd meet-and-greet. Wake up to a chill coffee bar vibe at the main stage, where people can exchange socials with their new friends and prepare to take down their camps.

Ohio is new to adult use, but the Stargazer Cannabis Festival is hip to the vibes. This event connects the cannabis enthusiasts in the state for three days of fun, connection, and education. With recreational sales in the state starting as soon as June 14, it’s bound to be a high time at the festival from July 26 to 28 in Pomeroy, Ohio.
