Once in a while, a cannabis strain comes along that takes the scene by storm. From the Cookies dynasty to the Glue craze, some varieties just hit different. The Super Boof strain may be one of these hitters.

When most people in the weed scene hear “boof,” they think mids. But Super Boof turns the slang on its head with its frosty nugs and ultra-potent effects. The resinous green buds are ideal for washing, much to hashmakers’ delight. Because it’s so sticky, Super Boof also makes top-shelf pre-rolls.

But how did the Super Boof strain rise to weed stardom? As it turns out, the cultivar fires on all cylinders.

Super Boof strain genetics

Super Boof is a cross between Black Cherry Punch and Tropicana Cookies. It was initially created by West Coast breeder Blockhead, who originally called the variety Blockberry. As legend has it, a grower named Mobile Jay got a cut of the strain and re-named it Super Boof.

Black Cherry Punch is an indica-dominant hybrid. Its ancestors include Granddaddy Purple, Cherry Pie, and Durban. Tropicana Cookies is a descendant of the GSC family, with Tangie added to the family tree.

Going deeper into Super Boof’s ancestry, you’ll see that the classic cultivars Skunk #1 and Afghani Kush make an appearance. With so many heavy hitters in its genes, Super Boof has a literal all-star lineup.

Super Boof flavor profile

Super Boof is a citrus-forward smoke with a side of dank haze. Its main terpenes are myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene. Floral linalool and hoppy humulene are also in the mix, giving Super Boof a complex, juicy flavor that’s in a league of its own.

Cracking a jar of Super Boof, you’re immediately transported to an orange grove. An earthy fruit aroma enters the nostrils and the air of sweet spice from a nearby garden dances through. The inhale is all puckery berry, while notes of dirt, lavender, pepper, and cheese dot the exhale.
