New weed products look to end a nightly struggle

Cannabis has many uses, and one of the most common is sleep. Most brands have a sleep product, and research circles the topic regularly. Doctors often weigh in on the value of certain cannabinoids for restful slumber, and people share anecdotal evidence about how weed helps them. There are also swaths of studies on sleep and weed.

Basically, cannabis culture is atwitter about products for sleep, and the new ones keep on coming. As someone who has trouble sleeping through the night I’m not mad at it.
I tried three THC sleep products recently to test out whether they really induce the Zzz’s, and each came in a delightfully different form. Here is the scoop on the latest from Offfield, Indacloud, and Betty’s Eddies. The first thing to note about all is to consume them before you brush your teeth for the night.
OFFFIELD High-Performance Sleep Gummy Review
Offfield, an athletically-focused brand, launched a new sleep product and study to uncover the most effective formulation. Co-founders Tony Fur and Todd Hunter told GreenState about how the latest offering was born.
“Sleep and recovery are just as important to fitness as exercise and diet,” Fur said. “The body heals during quality sleep, restoring muscles and alleviating fatigue. Finding few options that met our standards, we decided to develop one ourselves. Our goal is to enhance sleep quality and duration so people wake up refreshed and recovered, ready to do it all over again.”

The current High-Performance Sleep Gummy tastes like a lemon-lime Gatorade and has a delightfully light but chewy texture reminiscent of a Turkish Delight without the powder coating. Each square gummy candy contains two milligrams (mg) of hemp-derived THC, 15 mg of CBN, 35 mg of magnesium, 200 mg of chamomile, and 100 mg of L-theanine.
The combination knocked me out. I started with two gummies on my first shot to get a super solid night’s sleep–and they delivered. I waited two nights and ate one to see how that worked. One gummy knocked me out as quickly as two, but I became more wakeable in the early dawn than I did with two.
A serving (one gummy) contains three grams of sugar from organic cane sugar. The package states that the functional candies are vegan, dairy-free, non-GMO, soy-free, and gluten-free, with no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. They are available where intoxicating hemp products are available.
Most people will be pleased with the results of one Offfield sleep gummy and should start there. And, in case they are not, the brand is ready to change.
“Now, through our Offfield Labs program, we’re gathering insights from over 500 active participants to refine our final formula,” Hunter added. “Although the current formulation is receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews, which makes our job a little easier.”
Indacloud NightTime Chronic Crystals review
If this list had an award for the most inventive delivery method, it would go to Indacloud. The Chronic Crystals use the same food technology as pop rocks, so my night sleep medicine came with a side frivolity and childhood nostalgia.
This product comes as a pair in the One of Each combo. Its daytime counterpart contains caffeine and ginseng to uplift and inspire. But we are here to focus on the fast-acting nighttime Chronic Crystals.

The Bedtime Berry popping candy dust contains 25 mg of hemp THC, 10 mg CBN, 3 mg melatonin, 50 mg GABA, and 100 mg L-theanine. Anyone 21+ in a state where intoxicating hemp is legal can purchase them. The formulation uses sucralose artificial sweetener instead of sugar, which can be tasted behind the artificial berry flavoring. The package recommends starting with half, which I did.
Pouring pop rocks into my mouth as I sat in bed with my night creams applied felt somewhat silly, but not in a bad way. Staying weird keeps me young. Sitting there holding my mouth open, listening to functional pop rocks do their thing turned into me patiently waiting for it to be over, and that made me laugh at myself gleefully.
I got a good sleep from half of a packet. Rest came quickly, and I stayed down far past my usual 3 a.m. wakeup time. I also had a positive experience with the same dose of the daytime package for a creative drive. My negatives lie in the choice of ingredients. I prefer organic over artificial when possible, and this THC sleep product could have been more natural.
Betty’s Eddies Sleep Chew review
Betty’s Eddies is owned by multi-state operator MariMed, and the brand carries three sleep-oriented candy chews. One Bedtime Betty’s for sleep contains multiple cannabinoids. The other only has THC and melatonin. The brand also sells a combination formula for sleep and pain. I tried the first two and was immediately impressed that the brand had a unique candy. Each is also made with organic fruits and veggies sans artificial sweeteners and coloring.
Jake Dean, director of research and development for MariMed, explained to GreenState that the brand chooses natural ingredients because they support the effects of the cannabis plant. As for finding what works for sleep, he believes that is a personal journey.
“It’s important to take it slow and listen to your body,” Dean said. “Start with small doses and experiment with different formulations and timing to determine what works best for your needs. Many sleep-focused cannabis products now incorporate a range of cannabinoids beyond THC. Rotating in these different cannabinoids, at different ratios, can be a great way to fine-tune your sleep routine.”

The products almost resemble saltwater taffy right down to the wax paper packaging, but the texture was the tiniest bit off from the classic sweet. One Raspberry Creme candy includes five mg of THC, 10 mg of CBD, and 5 mg of CBN. This classic combination is featured in many sleep products. The flavor was yummy and did not trigger my dairy allergy, I also don’t remember passing out. Sleep stayed with me through the night.
The Lemon Agave flavor had a quizzical taste, I could not figure out what put me off. It was probably the agave, I am not a fan of agave syrup flavoring outside of margaritas in general. If you enjoy agave a lot, please you’ll likely have a better experience.
This option has five mg of THC and two mg of melatonin. Some people have unwanted reactions to melatonin, so it’s nice that the brand carries options. I was able to pass out hard from this one, too.
Each worked for me, but I preferred the Raspberry Creme for flavor and longer-lasting effects. Dean encourages everyone to find their preferences.
“Experimenting with various form factors and integrating what you find most beneficial can lead to a long-term sleep routine that results in quality sleep and leaves you feeling refreshed and energized in the morning,” he explained.
Betty’s Eddies fruit chews are available in Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, and Rhode Island.
THC sleep products for everyone
Not getting a good night’s sleep sucks. Nobody likes to be tired all day, nor do they enjoy the dark bags that sometimes form under their eyes. I sure don’t. These cannabis products each helped me pass out very hard, and many of them kept me down for longer than I would have slept without them.
Each has its benefits and negatives, whether the flavor, delivery method, or ingredients. Now that I tested them for you, find your perfect product, identify the target dose, and get to sleep already!
