Dreamy weed strain creates angelic vibes

Delightfully named weed flowers like the Dreamsicle strain will always be endearing. The promise of cannabis that hits the tongue with an out-of-this-world ice cream treat flavor profile is worth adventuring for. And while flavors and names do not always align in the weed realm–this one did.
I tried Dreamsicle flower and hash from The Flower Collective, a Nederland, Colo.-based team of growers and extractors. The group releases single-origin flower, solventless bubble hash, hash-infused rollies, and various extract-filled vape pens.

Collective flower is sold in Farmer’s Eighths, which weighs four-and-a-half grams instead of the mathematically correct eighth of an ounce (three-and-a-half grams). A little bit extra is appreciated in this economy, especially since this flower does get the job done.
Dreamsicle strain smell, flavor, and appearance
The Dreamsicle strain is a sativa-dominant flower that crosses Sumo Grande and the #4 phenotype of Creamsicle OG. Test results on the jar state it contains 25.25 percent THC and the dominant terpenes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool.
Limonene is the most prominent terpene I smelled in the bubble hash. However, the flower delivers a more complex aromatic story. I picked up hints of sweet lemongrass and biting lavender with a big whiff of the Dreamsicle jar. The flavor hints more towards herbal and earthy notes.
The flower grows with a long, dense, and bulbous bud structure. Some nugs are packed loosely while others are compact–the crop is clearly a combination. The buds are light green with yellow-orange pistils spread throughout.
This cannabis flower offers a delightful aesthetic experience, and I did not hate the high, either.
Dreamsicle strain effects
There is a lot to be said for the Dreamsicle strain effects. Immediately after ripping the bong, I felt my eyes and cheeks get heavy. I questioned whether this was a sativa based on how it slapped me in the face. I checked the jar, but it was, in fact, labeled as a sativa strain. And soon after the effects took hold, they balanced out into a focused, jovial high that delivered on the promise.
I felt very social after enjoying Dreamsicle. I played some blocks with my kid before chatting with a friend. This is a more uplifting flavor but may be meant for fun days rather than focusing on a time-sensitive project.
The downsides were a dry mouth and clenched jaw, easily fixed by drinking water and engaging in meditative breathing. All in all, this weed strain was a dream.

Good weed for a good time
The Flower Collective has my seal of approval on Dreamsicle. When the flower is good, the hash generally will be too. That was mostly the case here. But expect bubble hash quality, not full melt which tends to have higher terpene and cannabinoid quality. I would buy the $40 Farmer’s Eighth for my personal stash, but I might wait for the hash to go on sale.
