These pot products may resolve a universal struggle

The general public is slowly moving past the lazy stoner stereotype. Many people use weed to meet wellness goals, like bolstering a cannabis skincare routine or workout regimen. Research actually showed that running high is more fun than doing the same thing sober.
Certain products are made to bolster a workout and help people get their new exercise regimen started. Those seeking inspiration may look to a few edibles catered to the task, like OFFFIELD and ATHLETHC.

OFFFIELD gummies use natural caffeine and cannabinoids to get people moving and maximize their oxygen intake during a workout. Meanwhile, ATHLETHC, a brand founded by two elite athletes and a former Navy SEAL, relies on a sugar-free cannabinoid formulation to inspire everything from yoga to a HIIT workout.
ATHLETHC co-founder John Timar shared more with GreenState about the hemp-derived THC brand.
“We are an aspirational and inspirational fitness adventure brand,” Timar said. “Our focus is on the mainstream consumer that doesn’t want cannabis leaves on their products. They want the benefits of these products without the stoner culture.”
The brand is hoping to capture the cannabis consumer who may not be interested in hitting a bong or sitting in a plume of smoke with three formulations: Power, Flow, and Rebound. They sent all three to review, which I did before, during, and after a weightlifting session.
ATHLETHC mints are built to inspire movement
Power, Flow, and Rebound all contain a microdosed amount of THC alongside other relevant cannabinoids for three distinct effects. The brand chose mints as a delivery system to take advantage of oral absorption going straight to the bloodstream for a 10 to 20-minute onset time.
Power is designed to support pre-activity focus and metabolic function with two milligrams (mg) of THC, two mg of THCV, and 10 mg of CBG with cool mint flavoring. It is ideal for getting in the right headspace for a workout–or during.
One Flow mint contains two mg of THC, two mg of CBD, and 10 mg of CBG with naturally derived wintergreen flavoring. This blend supports mood, refine focus, and target inflammation during physical activity.
Lastly, Rebound is there for the workout recovery. Two mg of THC, two mg of CBC, and 10 mg of CBD are accompanied by sharp cinnamon to potentially soothe tired muscles, tendons, and joints.

The microdose of THC has a few functions. First, the brand wanted consumers free to build their dose. Starting with small amounts of THC encourages this customization. It also may help bypass counterintuitive effects like greening out, feeling lethargic, or getting the munchies.
These mints have one simple goal: to maximize function.
“We are helping people get in the zone, improve their mind-body connection, and get more enjoyment from their fitness pursuits,” Timar said. “Our customers are athletes and fitness-minded individuals who are already health-focused with disciplined diet and supplement routines. We are seeking to add to their routine and enhance their wellness experience rather than replace a pre-workout, hydration product, or recovery shake.”
After hearing all about ATHLETHC from Timar and getting ahold of all three flavors, it was time to put the promises to the test.
Getting back into running with THC products
My workout routine hit a wall after the flu hit everyone under my roof and has never recovered. ATHLETHC served as my way of giving it a jumpstart. Even when I’m on my routine, it can be hard to get my shoes on and out the door to run, but the Power blend helped. I started to feel a flutter in the first 10 to 15 minutes, and thirty in, I had to get out and move. I put on my shoes and set out almost an hour after eating the first mint.
As I set out, I ate a Flow to help me stay running. I could feel a lightness hit me while I was running on the trail, which was likely the Flow mint kicking in. With the kick of the THCV in the Power mint and the additional CBG and CBD from the Flow, I could keep at it and go for a long, relaxed run.
However, soreness was inevitable by the time the runner’s high wore off. That is where the Rebound comes in. I ate one of these mints about an hour after I returned before hopping in the shower. By the time I was finished I was flying high with a nice stone. I can not imagine Doing this routine for three runs a week, but it is a good exercise in challenging how I exercised. I felt the inspiration to get out and keep going thanks to ATHELTHC.
As for flavor, all of the mint used in the candies is naturally derived. They are sweetened with stevia leaf extract and sorbitol rather than sugar. This is good for some and unfavorable for others. Sorbitol has a chemical sugar taste that I immediately noticed. The flavor was good overall but left an aftertaste in my mouth for a while.

ATHLETHC weed mint review: worth a shot
All in all, these mints were effective at what they promised, with a few things to look out for. Hydrate thoroughly before, during, and after cannabinoid-infused workouts. This is also complicated for those who drive to their workout site. Driving high is never advisable, so these athletes may need a sober workout buddy when adding cannabinoids into the mix.
ATHLETHC crafted each formula with getting active at the top of mind. The containers are portable, fitting into small running legging pockets and gym bags, and the dose is built to be manageable. Meanwhile, each mint contains a trio of cannabinoids intended to get people moving and help them recover. Each has a rightful place in a workout regimen, provided you can eat weed.
