How to Use an Herbal Vaporizer: A Beginner’s Guide
When it comes to consuming marijuana, CBD flower, or any other herb, you have plenty of options. Some people prefer to smoke, while others like to make edibles.
Vaporizers are one great option for herb consumption.
While we’re used to the vaporizers that use oil cartridges, before those were popular there was another option that many people still use today. Dry herb vaporizers are underutilized, but is this just because people aren’t sure how to use one?
If you want to learn how to use a herbal vaporizer so you can decide whether or not it’s right for you, you’re in the right place. Keep reading for a quick vaping guide for beginners.
Use a Grinder
As with smoking pipes, you need to use a grinder to use any herb with your vaporizer. While technically non-ground herbs will work, you won’t get the same effect and it will be harder for the vaporizer to extract vapor from the entire herb.
Use a grinder to make this easy. Don’t make the grounds too fine or you may experience blockages.
You aren’t limited to CBD and marijuana, so each kind of herb that you try may have a different quality of grind that works best for it. Read more here about the different herbs that you can use with your vaporizer and experiment to see what works for you.
Pack the Chamber
After you grind your herbs, find the chamber. There should be some kind of cover. Sometimes it’s a clear back, while other times it’s behind the mouthpiece. Pack the herbs tightly into the chamber so they’re not able to move around.
You don’t want them so tight that the vaporizer can’t work, but think of it like packing sugar.
Heat the Vaporizer
This is where the heat comes in. Unlike with smoking, you’re not using fire to burn the contents of your vaporizer. You’re using gentle heat.
To do this, turn on your vaporizer. Most of them have “on” buttons that you can hold onto. The gentle heat will go into the chamber and allow the herb to release vapor.
Make sure that you read the instructions first so you know how long to hold the button. Different models have different needs.
Draw In Vapor
This part is similar to smoking. To finish the process, put your mouth on the mouthpiece and draw in the vapor. It will be smoother than hitting a pipe. When you inhale, you shouldn’t feel a burn.
Some vaporizers leave dried leaves that still work for edibles. If you’re so inclined, why not give that a try?
Now That You Know How to Use a Herbal Vaporizer, Why Not Try?
Herbal vaporizers aren’t just things of the past, lost to the concentrate and oil vaporizers that are so popular now. Learning how to use a herbal vaporizer is easy, and you might find that you prefer it. Try a new way to use your favorite herbal products!
