Fatburger and Kiva Put Cannabis Ketchup on the Menu to Celebrate 4/20
Fatburger, the iconic California fast food chain, is once again celebrating 4/20. The company announced today it’s partnering with well-known edibles brand Kiva to bring Cannabis Ketchup to hungry consumers across Los Angeles just in time for the high holiday.
Kiva x Fatburger Ketchup will contain 10mg of THC per packet, providing the perfect “cann-diment” to elevate the classic burger and fries experience. The product will be available exclusively at participating Artist Tree and Sweet Flower dispensary locations in LA while supplies last.
The Fatburger announcement comes as the world gears up for the biggest day of the year for cannabis enthusiasts. The collaboration is yet another example of mainstream America dipping its toes—and fries—into the cannabis space as the number of people integrating the plant into their everyday lives continues to climb.
“We’re thrilled to continue pioneering innovative, yet everyday products that pave the way for cannabis normalization. We can’t think of a better partner for this than our favorite West Coast burger chain,” said Kristi Palmer, Co-Founder of Kiva Confection, in a press release sent to GreenState. “What better way for cannabis fans to celebrate 420 than with a delicious, elevated munchies meal – and for the cannacurious to take their first dip into cannabis one fry at a time.”
This is not the first time Fatburger has commemorated the stoner-friendly holiday. Last year, the company turned its signature hand-scooped Strawberry Milkshake into a weed strain in a partnership with high-end cannabis brand Wonderbrett. “Fatburger Strawberry Milkshake Live Resin Cartridges,” flower and fruit chews were offered at Wonderbrett dispensaries on 4/20 only, leading to a flurry of traffic. The restaurant also offered its OG Fatburger for the smirk-inducing price of $4.20 throughout April.
“Every year, we look to bring our own special flavor to the 4/20 holiday,” Taylor Fischer, Vice President of Marketing for Fatburger, added in the release. “Our special sauce will be sure to take the munchie game to a higher level.”
