Custom-built bong offers funky alternative

Weeday bong review

These days there bongs, pipes, bubblers, electronic devices, and everything a stoner could imagine are available. That’s why I was surprised to see something kinda new, which is precisely what happened when I discovered the Weeday modular bong. There are so many benefits to having a glass-on-glass setup, like optimal flavor. Glass is not only sterile, it doesn’t leech any flavor into the smoke when heated. While these pieces offer clear hits, they can sometimes be hard to clean. That all changes with a Weeday setup.

Weeday is a Los Angeles-based brand founded on an interaction around a dirty bong. Two friends enjoyed a sesh, but the bong was coated with resin. When asked why the piece was so filthy, one of the stoners admitted that the shape made it too hard to clean. This interaction led to the first Weeday modular bong. Since then, the line has since expanded to include the Weeday bong, pipe, and mini-bong setups.

Trying the Weeday modular bong

I tried out the Custom Bong Builder; picking a tube, base, and silicone covers that I liked best. I chose an iridescent tube and base with Midnight, which is cerulean, and I was pleased when it arrived. The silicone is high quality, but the base and tube join under the silicone center piece so smoke only touches glass. That connector serves as an excellent grip to hold, and a poking tool that slides out for easy debowling.

I have preferred to hit a two-foot glass-on-glass beaker bong since I can remember. And in all of that time, I have found the cleaning process tedious. The end result is consuming out of a far dirtier bong than I’d like to, more often than not. This is why I had to try this modular bong as soon as I saw it. It is the perfect size and shape for me and might solve the issue of cleaning awkwardly-sized glass. This all stacks up, but the real question is: how does it hit?

My Weeday modular bong pulls huge clouds that taste divine. At first, I took some huge rips because the bowl piece was deceptively deep. Once I dialed in the new-sized bowl, every hit was groovy. The built-in poker stops me from one of my shameful goblin habits: packing fresh weed on cashed bowls. Shh, I know! I am admitting a cardinal sin! I am baring it all for the readers on this one.

The poker is quite helpful, but the million-dollar question is whether I let the resin build up or I actually deep-cleaned this modular bong setup. Very happy to report that having the option of removing the base without worrying about the tube absolutely does make cleaning the thing way easier.

I unscrewed the base and hit it with the alcohol and salt before any resin ever built up. That’s the ultimate high score for me. Just don’t put the lid on while water is inside because it squirts water out of the bowl piece.

All about the Weeday bong

Custom bong setups start around $160 but can go up the more you choose to personalize the piece. Already-made setups from the brand start at $132. Weeday has caps and supplies available on the website to make cleaning even more simple. Those who like snazzy pieces can grab items like the Christmas tree tube or specialty colorways. These choices can increase the price. The mini bong uses the same base as the bong but with a mouthpiece instead of a tube for a bubbler-type experience.

The Weeday modular bong is precisely what I want in a daily hitter. It bubbles and filters perfectly with no splash-back and tasty clouds. With a cost similar to much harder-to-clean bongs, this option is worth a look.
