Beloved TV trio break into American cannabis market

trailer park boys strain

Trailer Park Boys (TPB) has enchanted audiences since its launch at the dawn of the millennium. Since then, the boys from Nova Scotia have built a media platform with a television series, movies, a podcast, the band Bubble and the Shitrockers, and now, a new weed strain from Brothers Grimm.

This is not the Boys’ first foray into the weed space. In 2016, the brand partnered with Canadian weed company Organigram. Unfortunately, the partnership was short-lived due to restrictions against fictional characters representing cannabis brands. Eventually, TPB released a line of hemp-derived THC products with Hemptown Naturals, including drink-enhancing mixes, gummies, and mentholated or non-mentholated filtered Hemp Stix.

Now, TPB is bringing a renowned cannabis breeder into the fold with the creation of Ricky’s Hash Plant. The strain was created by Brothers Grimm Seeds, which launched to fame with flagship varieties like sparkling sativa Cinderella 99. Ricky’s Hash Plant was with Ricky in mind since he often mentions hash and seems to like heavier bud. It is a cross of Genius and Puck with Airborne G13.

Puck is also known as Skelly’s Hash Plant, a strain that originated in Canada. Genius is a sister of Princess, the mother of Grimm-created Cinderella 99 and Apollo strains. They crossed these together to lighten the heavy, solid vibes from the Puck plant. Then, the breeders brought it back down with Airborne G-13, lending rock-hard heavy buds, knockout potency, and a stink you can’t help but love to it.

This new Trailer Park Boys strain was bred to be hashy with heavy, relaxing effects–just how Ricky likes it. Feminized, photoperiod seeds flower in eight to nine weeks with large, dense colas often full of resin. A pack of nine limited edition seeds runs at $50, and the flower pairs well with the TPB blunt wrap collection in the three signature flavors. Orange for Ricky, Blueberry for Bubbles, and Rum n Cola for Julian.

Celebrity cannabis brands have not always hit the mark, but this product offering may be different. The Brothers Grimm seeds are available in all fifty states, empowering fans of weed and the Trailer Park Boys to grow their own.
