Drinking games are out, smoking games are in

smoking games: friends play cards

American drinking culture often centers on games like King’s Cup and Beer Pong. As the country turns the tide on cannabis, smoking games are rising to the top. However, weed games will differ from drinking games, as consuming each of these compounds hits a person differently. The point of these follies is that whoever loses a turn or match has to drink. The logistics of a fun weed game can get a little complicated.

One bong rip does not equate to one sip of beer. Fortunately, some low-dose seltzers match one-to-one against beer in a drinking game. The product the group chooses depends on their personal preference. The right way to infuse the games depends on the group. Everyone can even have their own.

Deciding which cannabis to use isn’t that serious. The most important thing is that everyone gets responsibly stoned while having a banger time. Many drinking games serve as excuses to binge alcohol, which doesn’t need to carry over into smoking game culture.

Dose out game hits appropriately and avoid overconsumption. And after pinning down the perfect doses, it’s time to pick a smoking game to play.

Find a show, make a rule

Applying a rule to a TV show or movie is the quickest way to make up a smoking game. The rule must revolve around a regular bit or thread in the plot. For example, those watching Gilmore Girls could pull off the joint when the main characters say they need coffee. Or maybe, switch on The Office and take a corner hit of a brimmer bowl (packed to the brim) for every time Michael Scott is awkward. This works with music to.

This fun smoking game can be easily shaped to fit any friend group. Put on a shared favorite show and let it ride.

Never Have I Ever

This one-size-fits-all game requires only a group of people and memories. To play Never Have I Ever, get everyone sitting in a circle. Then, go around and share something that they have never done. Each person ends with the statement “Never have I ever…” with their truths added.

Then, whoever in the circle has done that thing has to enjoy a bit of the weed product of their choosing. This game is fun for multiple reasons. People get to sip, toke, or vape on their favorite weed and learn more about their friends all at once.

Bong Pong

Beer Pong is a college game known to many, and there are a few ways to convert the table to Bong Pong. One is to replace the beer with water, and then, instead of drinking the water, take a snap from the bong (a little hit) or sip on some weed seltzer. Players could replace the liquid with ground flower but this might be a waste of ganja. Keep dirty ping pong balls out of the bud, and use water in each cup.

Strip Choker

Everyone needs to roll one up for themselves, pack a personal bowl, or put some flower in their dry herb vape to play Strip Choker. The smoking game is a play on the classic Strip Poker. Light up and take a draw together, proceeding to hold it in as long as possible. Whoever coughs has to remove a piece of clothing, and things go on until someone is naked or calls it.

Power Round

This weed-smoking game requires a deck of cards, a good group, and some ganja rolled up into joints, backwoods, hash holes, or blunts. Everyone playing should sit in a circle with a shuffled deck of cards in the middle. Take only the numbered cards from the deck and grab an ashtray or two.

Whoever rolls the torch chooses one person for the game by drawing a card and sparking up. They can choose themselves. Take as many draws as the card says, then pass the joint. Everybody wins this one.

Seek and Toke

Hide and Seek is a game where everyone finds their hiding place, and the seeker looks for each person. Sardines is similar but backward. The person hides, and then each person seeks them out. The seekers hide with the sardine when they find them, staying silent until everyone unites again. The group usually fights whispered giggles as their last friend wanders around alone.

The smoking version of these games adds a joint. Once the first person finds the hider, they do more than join them: they have to light a joint. Those with a good nose will find their way quicker and get more hits in the sesh. Keeping a straight face and staving off the giggles in absolute silence while passing one around may be a greater challenge than finding a good hiding spot.

Guess that Strain

The real connoisseurs will love Guess That Strain, a game that separates the knowledgeable from the experts. Grind weed from three or more strains and then either roll up joints for dry hits or load up a Volcano or dry herb vape to guess while toking.

Have everyone guess which strains are which and then reveal who knows their stuff while smoking them all up. Those with enough weed to play will enjoy testing their terpene and strain knowledge with their buddies. smoking games: trio sits at coffee table with board game

Joint Rolling Contest

Rolling a fantastic joint is an art form. People can roll up weed in awesome shapes or formations that make everyone question how it burns. Get together with the homies and host a joint rolling contest where everyone brings weed and their best rolling skills. The group will not only get to show their stuff, but the whole thing ends with a sesh.

Straight Face

One person in Straight Face must try to make the group laugh while they fight off laughter or smiles. Whoever loses, either the group who loses their cool or the friend who fails to incite laughter, takes a hit. As the game goes on, the urge to chuckle will grow.

Video Games

Playing video games stoned will never go out of style, especially the nostalgic ones with a group of buddies. Have the squad over for “Mario Party,” “Mario Kart,” “Super Smash Brothers,” or another classic vintage vibe. Smashing buttons with friends is a great way to ride out a good weed buzz during a casual game night.

Smoking games may trump drinking games

There are many ways to enjoy weed. Some of the best involve doing so with friends. Next time a group of buddies gets together to enjoy cannabis, they should think about playing a weed-smoking game.

Don’t sleep on classic smoking games like Bong Pong, Seek and Toke, Strip Choker, or one of the many other follies featured. Just remember not to let anyone get too stoned. If they do, don’t let them drive home. Safety first, even on game night.
