Riot Fest 2024: Slayer on stage, weed at concessions

Riot Fest is back with three days of punk rock in Illinois. The lineup brings some of the best in rock and roll, like Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Lamb of God, Taking Back Sunday, The Buzzcocks, and so many more to Chicago. This year will be a little different, though, because, for the first time ever, WYNK plans to be on-site with cannabis drinks–and even gave away a year’s supply to one lucky winner.

“We are excited to partner with WYNK on this year’s Riot Fest,” Max Wagner, Riot Fest director of business development said in a press release. “We know our attendees will enjoy this fresh twist on social drinking in beautiful Douglass Park.”

WYNK is a hemp-derived weed drink with microdoses of equal parts THC and CBD. It is formulated for social enjoyment, with not too many cannabinoids as to incapacitate someone. Black Cherry Fizz, Lime Twist, Juicy Mango, and Tangerine flavors contain either 2.5 or 5 mg of THC and CBD depending on the can size. These products will be available in general admission, VIP, deluxe, guest, and press concession areas.

On top of the usual festival chatter, WYNK hosted the RIOT FEST WYNKEND Sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will enjoy a year of WYNK beverages, a free three-day “Deluxe” pass to the festival, over $1000 for hotels and merchandise, branded swag, and in-fest experiences. Four runners-up will be granted three-day general admission festival passes. Winners have not yet been announced, but official rules state they were selected on Friday the 13th.

The event runs from September 20th to 22nd in Douglass Park. Guests will enjoy five stages, exclusive VIP lounges, deluxe viewing areas, and the immersive adventure, RiotLand. Interact with strange worlds in Riot Land, like a NOFX circus, or gay punk dance club. Some may even be transported to the Clerks convenience store. This new addition to the beloved fest adds to an already stacked weekend featuring 90 artists, and even more from WYNK.

The hemp-based THC beverage brand contributed visuals to the performance stages and products to the artist, press, and guest lounges. WYNK didn’t stop with the RIOT FEST WYNKEND Sweepstakes, they recently closed another festival pass giveaway with Binny’s Beverage Depot today.

This is the first year that weed will appear at Riot Fest in an official capacity, and hopefully not the last. Those who want to find WYNK at the festival can look on the app or official map for designated locations, those who want to rock out should look in any direction and walk straight.
