Famed talk show host’s weed actually pretty good
A few talk show hosts ruled the 1990s, and Ricki Lake is one of them. From her iconic haircuts to the way she shared her most intimate moments with viewers, she has always been a real one. Because of this, I wasn’t surprised when I read about her recent cannabis collaboration with Stone Road. The biodynamic farm was founded by Lex Corwin in 2016, and has since expanded into Massachusetts, New Mexico, and New York. Now, the California market is home to Ricki Lake & Bake.

Ricki Lake & Bake features quality flower that would actually be great before watching a throwback episode of The Ricki Lake Show. And it turns out the collaboration was years in the making as the pair have been acquainted since Corwin was but a sprout.
“I’ve known Lex since he was a child, and it’s been such an incredible experience watching him build Stone Road,” Lake shared with GreenState. “We had the idea for the collaboration last year after he visited my home in Malibu, and I showed him my plants. I sent him home with a little to-go baggie that day that I labeled ‘Ricki Lake & Bake.'”
After years of believing that cannabis was a harmful drug, she turned a corner, seeing the potential of medical cannabis. Lake released Weed the People with Abby Epstein in 2018. The documentary showcased stories of those whose lives were changed by the plant. She’s now a part of supplying that product, and it all started with her home grow.
All about Ricki Lake & Bake
Corwin saw a collaboration in their future as soon as he dipped into the bag she gave him in Malibu, reaching out to Lake as quickly as possible.
“She was immediately open to it – and already had the name thought up,” Corwin remembered. “We then flew her up to the farm for a tour and photoshoot, and the rest is history.”
Stone Road sells Ricki Lake & Bake complete with papers and filters in a Roll Your Own Pouch. One pouch contains a single-strain Pacific Frost x Banana OG cultivar. The package features her smiling face, and inside, I found a half-ounce (14 grams) of ground-up bud.
Corwin chose this phenotype for its fruity flavor and smooth finish. The company selects its best plants for the collaboration and uses flower harvested within the last 30 days. It isn’t just flower in there though, Ricki Lake & Bake also contains hash processed from Stone Road trim by small-batch producer Highest Health Co.
The end result? A soothing hybrid with a delectable scent that I enjoyed packed in my bong or dry herb vape as much as rolled in a joint.
Trying Ricki Lake & Bake
Even keel hybrids are not usually my jam, but Ricki Lake & Bake hit me just right with some relaxing vibes and very little anxiety. The pouch smells like a specialty fruit basket with bergamot and yuzu wafting from the pouch. I see some stem bits if I look closely, but it is not too huge of a deal for most. Those prone to headaches may want to pick out the pieces.
The flavor diverts from the citrus, instead presenting a sharp geranium and stone fruit. When I vaped the mixture, I felt a tingling in my nose. My guess is that the flavor and tingle came from vaping hash.
I felt it first in my eyes and forehead before that sensation quickly spread throughout my body. This settled into a pleasant effect from my tight lower back to my tense facial muscles. It didn’t make me feel like I needed to sleep, nor did I feel completely energized. Ricky Wake & Bake made me relaxed and maybe a bit loopy. It is precisely what I desire with my coffee on a morning off of work.

A quality product from a trusted source
While some may feel nervous about quality when buying ground-up cannabis, that goes out the window with Stone Road. However, these pouches make rolling convenient, cutting down on necessary accessories like grinders. The brand is dedicated to growing clean weed, free of pesticides and aged by natural sunlight.
Lake agrees. The brand practices are part of why she trusted Corwin for this collaboration.
“Stone Road’s commitment to natural growing practices mirrors my own approach – nothing sprayed, just sun and water,” said Lake. “I believe in this medicine, in Stone Road’s brand, and what they’ve built. It’s so perfectly aligned with where I am in my life now – focused on cultivating wellbeing and joy.”
Ricki Lake & Bake is currently available at dispensaries in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and the beloved television personality hopes that the special strain can bring peace to those who need it.
“In these challenging times, when we’re all dealing with so much stress and anxiety, I want to help change the narrative around this medicine and help people find the same sense of peace, joy, and wellness that I have found through cannabis,” Lake concluded.
