New cannabis strain capitalizes on viral trend

New weed strains excite consumers new and old. Long-time patients like me and cannabis beginners are equally excited about fresh drops. Those in my home state of Washington might agree that one of the best new pheno hype brands is the Dewey Cannabis Company. I have reviewed a few of their genetics before, including Tropic Honeyglue and Glitter Party. Now, we’re looking at a new lineage mate of Island Cookies that has only been available at stores for a few weeks: the Pink Drink strain.

The hybrid weed is not my usual cup of tea, I like heavy, sleepy weed, but even I can say it is a valuable toke. This strain combines Island Cookies with a cross of Sour Mango and Bahama. This is evident in the sweet-as-sugar scent. All of that is followed up by an even-keel high that hits from both ends.

Don’t confuse this Pink Drink strain with a Banana Punch and OG Fruit Smoothie cross bred by Collective Council–it’s something completely new.

Pink Drink strain appearance, smell, and taste

Pink Drink is a variety that grows frosty buds with a pleasantly saccharine scent. These flowers are forest green and blanketed in trichomes, which add a sparkly cover. Each bulbous bud is decorated with little bushes of orange-brown pistils. Overall, it is a gorgeous flower.

As for the smell, Pink Drink is a candied treat. After many smells, lemon and blueberry felt most prominent to me. At one point, there was a surprisingly agreeable (I’m a vegetarian) shrimp aroma, but someone else is going to need to vouch for me on that.

I loved the sensory experience of Pink Drink, but what interested me most was that the high matched my vibe, too.

Effects of the Pink Drink strain

This hybrid cannabis strain is precisely what I expected, but with a slightly chill side. Pink Drink is a delightful smoke, starting with a mild brain buzz that settles in for a heavy lid and flowy few hours.

I felt the Pink Drink in my crown immediately after hitting a bowl in my Weeday Bong. That quickly moved to my forehead before settling into the temples where the tingles moved through my brain. This weed felt relaxed but completely mentally aware. My eyes were heavier but still present, and my facial muscles twitched and tensed a bit while it kicked in.

The action was predominantly in my head until I lost the plot. Like, I actually forgot what I was doing and started another task. It might not incapacitate me, but Pink Drink definitely altered my focus. My mind was chilled out but remained focused. It reminded me of super spruced-up Island Cookies. I suppose that makes it a valid continuation of the lineage.

Everybody needs a Pinkety Drinkety

Pink Drink is for the people. Unlike the sugar-filled beverage its name comes from, this weed strain is worth a sip. Those who want some relaxation without falling asleep should come to Washington for the Dewey Cannabis Pink Drink. The flower promises an experience its parent plants would be proud of.
