Picasso strain: GDL Picasso flower in front a painting

The Picasso strain was created by Green Dot Labs (GDL), a family-owned Colorado cannabis company. This even hybrid is a perfect fit for those seeking a completely down-the-middle high. Picasso is a masterpiece of delicious scents, flavors, and effects utilizing the best of its premium genetic line. The flower crosses Cookies Creme Brulee crossed with Garlic Banger in a combination that hits just right.

Green Dot Labs was founded by a husband and wife team dedicated to excellent cannabis concentrates and the flower that makes them. The pair set out to breed stellar genetics for extraction and ended up with Pink Froot, Fortissimo, and Picasso. I tried the GDL Picasso flower, and here’s my take.

Picasso strain scent, flavor, and look

Picasso cannabis flowers develop an array of colors with a spiced citrus terpene profile. This weed has dark purple, lime green buds with patches of forest green. Nugs are dense and big, round with protruding calyxes. Each bud is covered in sparkling trichomes and small patches of the brightest orange-brown pistils.

As for the scent, savory gas and lemon are king. One big whiff of my Picasso jar unleashed a bouquet, including lemon shaved ice, sweet cypress, and fresh diesel. Lemon verbena and pine come forward in the flavor before leaving a gas behind.

These tasty nuggets are worth more than their aesthetics. The effects are just as noteworthy.

Effects of the Picasso strain

This hybrid cannabis variety offers a balanced experience with some heaviness here and there. I tried Picasso from a bong and from a dry herb vape and had a similar experience both times. The first time, I felt flutters in my heart and needed to lay back for a moment.

After coming up for air, the strain filled my sinuses, like a pressure in the face. The high gathered like clouds in a storm before flowing outward to the heart. Eventually, these feelings moved throughout my body into a slight relaxation as I balanced out from the initial ascent.

Once that first wild ride mellows out, the Picasso strain creates an even-keel effect. My mind was definitely altered, but I was not inclined to swing to the indica or sativa side. It sits right in the middle, making it great for those seeking equilibrium.
