Kristen Stewart reveals starring stoner role while high on an edible
Kristen Stewart recently interviewed up-and-coming starlet Rachel Sennott over Zoom for Interview Mag. Her first admission? She’d just eaten an edible. By the end of their conversation, Stewart shared that her next project would center on women and weed.
The pair’s easy-to-read exchange bustled through topics like making queer cinema, working on large versus small projects, and that one night they all got lifted together. The interview is part of Sennott’s press tour for her role in The Idol starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.

The conversation didn’t touch on the HBO series, instead naturally flowing into a discourse between women about pursuing an acting career. They talk about working on movie sets, sleep habits, and what they’d like to do in the future. Stewart mentioned that she is starring in a movie written by her soon-to-be wife, Dylan Meyer.
“Me and Dylan are working on a movie that she wrote and I’m starring in,” Stewart shared in Interview Magazine. “It’s a stoner girl comedy, and it’s really f*cking stupid.”
Kristen Stewart: the underrated cannabis celebrity
Stewart doesn’t hide her love for the plant, so the admission won’t surprise her fans. The paparazzi captured the actor hitting a bowl on the stoop in 2008, which she later told Vanity Fair was the day the first Twilight film premiered. One year later, she was photographed wearing a bathing suit adorned with cannabis leaves while on vacation with her brother.
Stewart’s roles have also veered toward higher characters, which could speak to her effortlessly chill delivery. In 2009 Stewart played Em Lewin in Adventureland, a main character and romantic interest who bakes edibles for the crew. She stars opposite Jesse Eisenberg in that film and American Ultra, where Eisenberg’s character smokes a ton of weed.

The pair did an interview with BuzzFeed that was mainly about weed and all jokes aside, Stewart is clearly familiar with cannabis culture.
With Stewart’s background, her performance could produce another cult classic akin to Grandma’s Boy and Smiley Face. Over at GreenState, we’re eager to find out. In the meantime, watch The Idol featuring Rachel Sennott on multiple streaming platforms.
