Widely unknown cannabis strain dunks on most modern weed

Glitter party strain

In these modern times of heady strains boasting the highest THC, docile stoners like me often worry that even the “heavy” weed will end in anxiety spirals. That makes finding gorgeous indica strains like Glitter Party even sweeter.

Not to be confused with the Glitter Bomb strain, this flower is rarely seen on dispensary menus. That is interesting since the variety provided everything I love about old-school strains like Northern Lights and Blueberry in a sparkly new package.

The Glitter Party strain is a rarity is because Dewey Cannabis Co. only dropped it last month. I tried the cross of Island Cookies and Cosmic Pie and was immediately enamored by the bright, fruity scent paired with heavy, relaxing effects.

Cosmic Pie is a cross of Cherry Pie, a relaxing variety, and Space Fuel, which combines Purple Diesel and Tropic Island. Island Cookies is a fruity combination of Cookies strains and Zkittlez. Both parents are in-house Dewey cultivars.

This Pullman, Wash. cannabis company takes pride in its selective breeding program. The small but mighty team was founded by two plant geneticists who prioritized aroma. The result is signature strains like Vin Diesel Diesel, Carribean Chocolate, and, most recently, Glitter Party.

The relaxation-inducing variety results from pairing science and passion, and people have noticed. It won an NW Leaf Bowl before it was even released, and it has since also won a place in my heart.

Glitter Party look, smell, and taste

There are signs that a cannabis variety will be fire, and Glitter Party hit all of the boxes. I tried the strain in my Yew Yew Mini Bong and Storz & Bickel Volcano for the best view of effects and taste. As for smells, one whiff had me basking in a jar of sugared lime jellies. A Volcano bag of the flower tasted like fresh tangerines with a whisper of musk. This flavor finishes with an almost soapy moment, but not in a bad way.

The buds are a delightful combination of hunter green and deep purple, featuring little tufts of light orange hairs. Trichomes are sparkling and bountiful on the dense, bulbous calyxes that may make even my stressed brain mellow out for a second.

Effects of the new Glitter Party strain

Glitter Party is what I imagine being made of jello feels like; muscles and tension melted away before I knew what was happening. This indica strain takes hold, and the mind uncuffs from daily stress and anxiety. After a hit, the effects started in my eyes and sinuses before quickly melting down my neck into my body.

My muscles, joints, and sciatic nerves are usually tight but were left noodly. My body was weighted while my mind happily cruised through a hazy confusion. Once that initial high settles into a plateau, it stays heavy, mellow, and free of anxiety. This is a super stoney vibe that hangs about for hours. As for the negative, look out for dry, red eyes.

I love this variety and the budtender who handed over my online order does too since she complimented my taste. The Glitter Party scent and flavor are tantalizing, but the effects offer a somewhat unheard-of anxiety-free high. In 2024, that is worth writing home about.

Throw a super chill Glitter Party

Relaxed strains are hard to find these days, especially those that do not trigger paranoia or anxiety. Whether it is people like me who need super stoney strains for breakfast or others who only need these strains for sleep, everyone should RSVP ‘yes’ to the Glitter Party.
