What is HashFlight and Budist?
HashFlight offers a sophisticated hash-tasting experience in a pristine, smoke-free environment illuminated by Puffco e-rigs. Featuring a quintet of low-temp dabs, each hash/rosin cultivar crafted by the selected hash producer is paired with expert guidance to explore the unique aromas and flavors.
The events are set to a backdrop of classic tunes that enhance the ambiance. Emphasizing the craftsmanship of premium water hash and live rosin, Hash Flight spotlights exceptional Californian producers, providing an educational and immersive experience for hash enthusiasts. This is a new event series powered by Grassfed, creators and producers of some of the most fun and exciting cannabis events happening in California. With a history that includes Hash and Hummus, Virtual Reality Elevated, and a Marijuana Madness-themed music and burlesque show, they have a habit of making engaging entertainment that pushes the senses.

Partnering with HashFlight is Budist, a groundbreaking social review platform dedicated to the cannabis industry. Designed to foster transparency and community engagement in cannabis product reviews by empowering both consumers and industry experts to rate products. This allows Budist to provide a comprehensive perspective on an array of cannabis products.
Founded by industry leaders Jocelyn Sheltraw and Claudio Miranda, the platform aggregates insights from certified Ganjiers, cannabis cup judges, journalists like our very own Rachelle Gordon, and connoisseurs, highlighting their expertise and reducing anonymity to encourage constructive feedback. Budist not only offers a space for honest product assessments but also celebrates the craftsmanship and heritage of cannabis culture, particularly within California. Available on the App Store and Google Play, Budist currently accepts reviews for products sold through licensed California retailers, with plans to expand to additional states.
Boarding at gate 710
After arriving at HashFlight, we met with the concierge and got our scheduled flight time. Two flights of six passengers a piece were scheduled every fifteen minutes to disembark on their journey, giving you plenty of options to choose from and even earlier options for those who purchased the VIP or first-class ticket option. Once your flight time arrived, boarding was quick, and while there were no assigned seats, the legroom was incredible. As everyone buckled in, metaphorically, the hosts began describing the journey and what was in store for us.
Christening this journey was the ever-popular 710Labs, a brand synonymous with quality over everything and flavors over percentages. On deck, we had a total of five different cultivars to try, four persy (personal headstash quality) rosins with one water hash detour along the way. All the dabs were given using Puffco Proxy’s in Recycler, Wizard, or Ripple forms, all at low temperatures for an enhanced flavor experience. My favorite was the Starburst36, with flavors akin to the namesake candy and a heritage that includes the legendary KC36. It was a treat to experience it in water hash form, along with all the other great flavors brought on board this flight.
Light my fire: Sunset House LA
Taking off directly from Sunset House, an exclusive venue located on the iconic Sunset Strip formerly known as the London Fog nightclub. This historic site is renowned for being the launchpad of The Doors’ legendary career in 1966, where they performed as the house band. The energy and creativity that The Doors brought to the London Fog contributed significantly to their rise as one of the most influential rock bands in history. Today, Sunset House maintains this rich musical legacy by providing a sophisticated, intimate environment for guests to enjoy and celebrate music and culture while blending comfort and glamor.

A perfect location for the inaugural flight, it was easy to get comfortable in this West Hollywood location. Also included on the flight were other brands like Sunstone Cannabis company which provided delicious medicated beverages along with a full cheeseboard and charcuterie spread as part of your inflight meal. AyPapi, a premium hash and rosin company doing things a bit differently with clothing and fitness as part of their brand focus. I can say without a doubt their product lineup is amazing and definitely well worth checking out. Rounding out the mix was Heritage Hash Company, with offerings in both the front and back of the house so you can make sure you were fully set up before disembarking from your journey.
Smooth flying: No turbulence or rough landings
The HashFlight provides an experience unlike anything else in the cannabis event space currently. With its use of premium grade hash and rosins exclusively and a focus on the terps and education behind the hard work these producers are putting in really shows what sets this event series apart. The attendants on board the flight, Camran Hussain (yungslabbyy) and Christina Cassidy (thecanncierge) were amazing and kept up with the super-fast session I was a part of with grace and ease even as I was dabbing for two. With the next flight taking off June 11th, pack your bags early, as this is a flight you won’t want to miss.
