New device makes cannabis tech brand a top contender
Cannabis vaporizers are constantly evolving, with new technology and models coming out all the time. Davinci Tech, creators of the newly released Davinci IQ3, dropped their first dry herb vaporizers in 2011 and have not let up since.
I started reviewing devices around the same time the first Davinci came out and have had the opportunity to review many previous models. Their pieces have always been consistent, high-tech, and thoughtful, but none have wowed me. However, that may have changed after trying the IQ3.

All about the Davinci IQ3
The Davinci IQ vape series comes in four colors, silver, black, purple, and blue. It also has a 90-minute battery runtime, double the previous IQ. The chamber is made of airtight zirconia glass and comes with a removable Cool Core vapor pathway.
This model was clearly made with consumer feedback in mind because there are notable improvements to the user experience without unnecessary bojangles. It comes with a mouthpiece, an adapter if you get the water filtration glass attachment, a dosage pod, cleaning tools, some informational booklets, and a tool to remove the zirconia Cool Core. What really sets the IQ3 apart are the improvements made since the last model came out.
What makes the IQ3 better?
The newly released vaporizer flower chamber is 33 percent larger than previous iterations, with more holes for better airflow. In turn, it bakes herb more evenly than it used to.
It also features a patented Cool Core System that lowers vapor temp by 50 percent more than other Davinci vapes. Remove it carefully with the tool and put it in the freezer before use to lower vapor temps. Finally, the air dial on the bottom of the piece lets me adjust resistance and airflow as I see fit. Each of these thoughtful adjustments made for an excellent consumer experience.
My experience with Davinci IQ3
The Davinci IQ3 was easy to use and hits like a champ. I had an all-around great experience. But let us track back to the beginning. The vape comes in a sleek front-opening box, complete with a drawer of tools and an instructional manual. A sticker on the brushed aluminum unit right over the charging port has four easy-to-follow steps to operate.
They have dialed in the unboxing experience to ensure people don’t jump in and get confused. This kind of touch can only come with experience in the vape space. As for getting started, it was almost too easy.
After running a dry cycle to burn off any residue, I packed up the bottom-loading chamber and snapped it shut. A zirconia glass pearl is affixed to the chamber lid, which helps evenly distribute and slightly tamp the herb.
The power button is located on the side of the device directly above the two arrow buttons used to set the temperature to a degree. Click the power button five times to activate the IQ3, and the front lights will turn on while the piece vibrates. Hit the power button three more times to adjust the temperature as you see fit. Once used, it will begin heating to the previously set temp as soon as it turns on. The front lights read out the temperature as you click through the buttons.
I opted to vape some of The Creamery strain at 350°F first and then cranked it up to 417°F to see how the device handled a big bake. The lower temp vape was full of terpenes with rich flavor. This temp didn’t create big clouds, but I definitely felt like I was getting some cannabis vapor with every pull. The only drawback for this quality rig is the price tag. At $300 it might not be accessible for everyone.
Once I pumped up the temperature, the oven really got cooking, and the hits tasted a bit burnt. Most likely because I was burning them at that temperature. Those who seek terps would not want to set the temperatures over 375°F, but people seeking clouds would love it. As for getting me high, Davinci IQ3 did the trick.
The highest IQ just dropped
Like many who have reviewed all of the vapes, Davinci has always been on my radar but never made the must-have list. The IQ3 changes that. This vape tech era has moved the brand into its best era yet, one that clearly listens to its consumers and creates products using their feedback.
Better vape chambers, more capacity, longer battery life; the user-friendly updates continue. I am now a Davinci fan. The IQ3 is a solid dry herb vape that stands up next to staples like the PAX3 and Arizer V-Tower. Welcome to the upper echelon, Davinci, and bravo on an excellent new vape.
