4/20 food: Carl’s Jr. unveils a CBD burger, Ike’s $4.20 deals, and pizza
Where do your weed-induced cravings take you? Maybe you’re looking for a freshly-made pizza topped with plenty of ooey-gooey cheese. Or, you’re wondering if you can kill two birds with one stone and eat something that will satisfy your stomach and mellow you out.
This 4/20, depending on where you are, you can do both.
The latest promotional ploy from Carl’s Jr.? A CBD-infused burger aptly named the Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight (CBD). This smoke-show of a sandwich features two charbroiled beef patties, and packs a punch with pickled jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. The not-so-secret ingredient? Santa Fe Sauce infused with hemp-based CBD oil. You can pass on that side of fries – crunchy Crisscuts are already sandwiched into the burger.
“The new Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight ties back to our core strategy of being the first to bring bold and unexpected flavors that are at the forefront of hot restaurant trends to a quick service menu,” said the marketing material credited to Patty Trevino, Senior Vice President.
The burger will be available at just one restaurant in Denver, Colo. If you happen to be in the mile high city, it’s at 4050 Colorado Blvd. The restaurant will serve each sandwich for $4.20 from 6:00 a.m. MT to closing time, while supplies last. Carl’s Jr. is the first quick service restaurant to be testing CBD infused options, as far as we can tell.
Can’t wait until 4/20 for a special sandwich? In California, Ike’s Love & Sandwiches will be celebrating the holiday for the entire week with $4.20 deals on the Matt Cain, Menage A Trois, and Sometime’s I’m a Vegetarian varieties of their beloved subs.
You do still have to pay for chips and a drink to get the deal, and the offer excludes the restaurant’s San Diego State University, Santa Rosa, Redwood City and San Mateo locations.
More of a pizza person? We’ve got you covered nationwide. Blaze Pizza has a 4/20 deal that goes beyond. If you download the app, you can redeem a reward for a free high-rise crust upgrade. It’s not a free pie, but the discount applies through April 27 and can therefore be enjoyed after the holiday. The high-rise crust is a doughier version that usually costs a few bucks extra.
