Cannabis product replaces required taco night ingredient
People abstain from alcohol the first month of the year so frequently that it has earned the moniker Dry January. However, the tradition has been far less dry since the rise of weed drinks. Cannabis seltzers and cocktails offer a fun buzz without the potential for spins and nasty hangovers the next morning. The rise of the hemp-based THC market spawned an array of liquid offerings, and each has a niche. Certain beverages add additional euphoric herbs, specialty cannabinoids, or dupe a traditional cocktail.

Señorita, a THC drink line made by Second Nature, offers a weedy alternative to a margarita. It won first place for Best Beverage at the 2023 High Times Cannabis Cup. World-class winemakers Joel Gott and Charles Bieler designed the drinks, and the pair continues collaborating with the team despite selling to Agrify in December 2023.
I put both the Lime and Mango flavors to the test against my favorite cannabis-infused libations, and there may be a new favorite in fridge town.
All about Señorita by Second Nature
Señorita weed margaritas are a delectable alternative to the real thing, which may be thanks to the ingredients. These drinks are sweetened with agave rather than popular chemically manufactured options or corn syrup. This earns them an immediate plus in my book, as I can be sensitive to sugars–too much leads to a monumental headache.
Alongside the agave, I was thrilled to taste real lime juice, Himalayan sea salt, and jalapeño in one can. Totapuri mangoes and Himalayan sea salt graced the Mango version. And, of course, each has a healthy dose of hemp-derived delta-9 THC. The Lime and Mango-flavored drinks come in two potencies: 10 milligrams (mg) and five mg of THC.
These real ingredients translate into the flavor, and the effects are swift. With effects like these, there is a time and place for Señorita.

Señorita weed margarita review: a perfect drink?
Señorita non-alcoholic margaritas taste sublime. The sweet and tangy tropical mango flavor is layered and prominent in every sip. Citrus was subtle but bright in the Lime option. Neither drink has an artificial aftertaste or overly sweet characteristics.
Pros
These drinks are clearly jam-packed with quality, which is always a good sign when weed is in the picture. If a company uses the lowest-grade ingredients, I imagine that same care may go into their weed and hemp sourcing. These fears never manifested with these margs, though. The flavor is far from artificial.
The effervescence is also perfectly mild. Sometimes I like soda to hit me like a McDonald’s Sprite, but a subtle bubble is appreciated on other occasions. Señorita tickles the mouth rather than erupts in it like that fast food Sprite. These drinks also have a smooth effect that I love for my post-work, pre-bed ritual.
Señorita is fast-acting, that is for sure. After half a can my brain is no longer tense and my eyes feel heavy. It is a perfect sip after work, dinner, and toddler bedtime is finally over.
Cons
The downside? My mouth became the Sahara. Have water nearby when drinking this cannabis cocktail. It is also a larger beverage, so those who want a quicker sip might opt for sharing the 10 mg with a friend for more THC per ounce.
Second Nature knocked it out of the park with Señorita from flavor to effects. It is no wonder the beverages have won multiple awards, I would have given them a blue ribbon too.
These THC drinks are Second Nature
I thoroughly enjoyed both flavors I tried for this Señorita weed margarita review. In the next year, the brand plans to expand with a Paloma alternative and Ranch Water–I can’t wait. These beverages offer a potent buzz, especially for the 10 mg crowd, with a delicious crop of ingredients.
