Surprising weed product tantalizes taste buds
Cannabis drinks are becoming the new normal. There was a time when we had to mix tinctures or powders to craft them, but now THC comes canned and ready. When brands found the hemp THC loophole, it was not long until a bounty of cannabis seltzers, alcohol dupes, and other inventive drinks hit the market. I have tried a barrage of these beverages since they started hitting shelves. While some are not my favorite, others pleasantly surprise me.
Anytime is one such canned weed drink. The women-owned, privately funded company has crafted four flavored seltzers with an interesting goal.
“We designed Anytime to help people unwind—not just get high,” co-founder Kaitlin Murphy told GreenState.

What makes Anytime different is the cannabinoid combinations in each can, a formulation that favors more mellow compounds than psychoactive ones. Each can contains five milligrams (mg) of THC and 15 mg of CBD. The four flavors, Lime, Mango, Raspberry Lemonade, and Strawberry Kiwi, are designed for a mellow time, any time.
The drinks are vegan and made with no added sugars or sweeteners, resulting in a delicately flavored, refreshing drink with no lingering aftertaste. I tried all four award-winning flavors, testing how long they took to kick in, the taste, and more.
Trying Anytime THC seltzers: good flavor, great time
The novel formulation of Anytime seltzers makes it a solid choice for relaxing after work or, unlike some heavier-dosed options, a mid-day break. I enjoy infused cocktails and canned beverages often after my work, parenting, and chores are done around 9 P.M. I started by trying Anytime in this situation, cracking open the Lime to kick back for the night.
When I say I was pleasantly surprised about the flavor, I am not kidding. The fun, vibrant packaging had me expecting an overly sweet sip, but it was quite the opposite. This makes sense since these are made with all-natural ingredients. The citrus was subtle but present, and the effects kicked in quickly without knocking me out.
My favorite flavor was the Raspberry Lemonade, which offered a whisper of a perfectly tart pink lemonade. The Strawberry Kiwi wasn’t my favorite, but I did not hate it. Like its counterparts, it is wonderfully subtle but with enough fruit-filled umph that I could make out the flavor. As for the Mango, it is such a perfect, tropical fruit flavor. When it is not overdone, it will always have my heart.
Now, let’s talk about the downside. Certain patients and recreational users require larger quantities of weed to hit their desired effect. This group might need to find a different option or supplement their Anytime seltzer, like weed syrup or powder. This cannabinoid ratio is by design for consumers seeking a lower dose.
“We’ve always prioritized the experience over the THC content,” Murphy said. “We also believe in the entourage effect, which says the benefits of cannabis are enhanced when various cannabinoids work together. So when we created Anytime, we did so with the mindful consumer top of mind – adding in the CBD to help create a balanced, relaxing effect.”
I felt relaxed after drinking the fruity concoctions, and while I was the tiniest bit loopy, they did not incapacitate me. That must be what they mean by “anytime”, I think I could enjoy these most times of day. Not before driving, obviously, but I am confident that cracking one open may not derail an otherwise productive afternoon.
Anytime means pretty much any time
Anytime is not joking around, these beverages are worthy of attention. For me, these drinks are worth making the Dry January lineup. They are currently sold at retailers in multiple states, and subscriptions, four-packs, and 24-packs are available online. While they may not be ideal for the high-THC crowd, those microdosing or new to the plant will appreciate the thoughtful cannabinoid content.
