Free rave coming to celeb-owned weed lounge

Stoners who were toking on medical pot and dreaming of the great days of legalization rarely painted pictures of hefty taxation and dry flower packaged six months prior. Instead, scrambled, smokey, symposiums were held about weed-forward wellness centers and fearlessly lighting a joint while enjoying a DJ set at a beautiful bar or lounge. It may have taken years, but the latter utopia may arrive at The Woods in West Hollywood this weekend.

Free rave at The Woods
Fans of house music can rejoice with the news that there will be a free, cannabis-friendly rave on Saturday, February 22nd from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Ganja Giggle Garden weed lounge.
“Our goal is to throw the coolest parties in the world. A big part of that is finding the most unique locations. The Woods definitely fits, and just so happens to be owned by one of the greatest actors of our generation,” event producer Tell Somebody messaged GreenState via Instagram.
This event is part of a Tell Somebody series where DJs pop up for raves in unlikely places. Past parties have erupted in laundromats and pizza joints before settling in at The Woods. Rommii, an artist known for fast, nostalgic house beats, is headlining the event and was part of a similar style show at a San Diego burger store in December.
“I’m really excited about it cause no one has ever done a rave inside of a dispensary,” Rommii told GreenState. “Especially the fact that it looks like the adult version of the rainforest cafe and owned by Woody Harrelson it makes it so much more exciting.”

TXKA will kick things off with funky house music with LADLER is scheduled to follow before Rommii goes on. LADLER is the creator of the “Unlikely Mashup” series. The social media shares feature classics like Long Day At Work versus Cracking a Cold One. In line with that, he spins a disco-inspired house set that makes a person smirk while involuntarily moving their body along.
LADLER told GreenState that he’s looking forward to playing on a lineup with his friends, one of which is weed.
“Considering the fact that I’m not smoking anymore, but I’m not smoking any less, this is the perfect scenario for a rave at a dispensary,” LADLER shared. “The Giggle Garden already sounds like the ideal place to drop some of my giggle-worthy remixes.”

The show will be free for anyone over the age of 21. Those who come for the tunes can also take advantage of the premium craft bud and non-alcoholic beverage menu at The Woods. Tunes are set to spin from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd. The venue has a 300-person capacity, get there early to claim a spot or RSVP. Either way, show up ready to dance and maybe make some new friends.
“This is a show that the community didn’t know they wanted, but it’s what they needed,” LADLER concluded.
