The perfect way to spend a high holiday night
Gathering for the winter holidays is a timeless tradition. People gather to eat with family or meet at the local haunt with friends visiting home. And, during those long meals, there might even be a cousins’ walk. After all of these events, sometimes the best thing to do is sit down with a freshly rolled joint or a fully-charged e-rig and watch a movie.

There are many holiday films, but not all are right for after a sesh. But these ones are. From animated feel-good features to slapstick hilarity, these flicks are worth watching on a cozy Christmas Eve or after lighting the final candle in the menorah.
Klaus
This charming tearjerker is meant for children, but many adults love it, too. Klaus reimagines the origins of Santa Claus using a snowy Northern town struggling through decades of feuds. Engaging animation is joined by riveting character arcs and concepts that will engage even the most high minds.
The Night Before
Slapstick humor and beloved comedians are a winning combination when high. That goes double around Christmas. The Night Before is an intersectional tale starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Anthony Mackie as they navigate an unbelievable night before Christmas. Bounce from a hilarious to thrilling experience in New York City as the adventure unfolds. Light one up for this classic stoner holiday movie.
Star Wars Holiday Special
Kick it old school with the Star Wars Holiday Special, a late 1970’s made-for-television extravaganza. The TV movie follows Chewbacca and Han Solo on a journey back to Chewy’s home planet Kashyyyk. Their goal is hindered by the Imperial Blockade as Chewy’s family figures out how to pass the time. This delightful trip to the past will be beloved by the old heads in the group, but Gen Z may take some convincing.
Elf
Santa is his favorite, and he earned the hearts of millions–Elf is a Christmas movie with staying power. Will Ferrel plays an earnest, innocent adult man who happened to be raised by elves on the North Pole. When he travels to New York City to find his birth father, he is confronted with the reality of humanity. Watch the world meet Buddy the Elf and fall along with them, especially with some herbal refreshments.

A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas
Cheech and Chong were joined in the stoner hall of fame by fellow stoned best friends: Harold and Kumar. This was solidified when the two starred in A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, complete with a deranged Neil Patrick Harris. This duo made up of an uptight businessman and his med school dropout stoner friend, can’t help but get into wild hijinx in the name of getting White Castle burgers. Light up and tune in for a hilarious holiday evening.
Office Christmas Party
The wildest office Christmas party ever comes together in this film. Two executive team members have to throw the most bangin’ holiday party ever known to impress a potential client. The twist? Everyone will lose their jobs, and the company will go under if they can’t pull it off. Get stoned along with these fools, as they risk never being able to look each other in the eye again.
Bad Mom’s Christmas
This installment of the Bad Moms franchise brings Grandma’s into the fold for a somewhat hokey, definitely entertaining movie. Three moms rail against the expectations of moms during this time of the year. Stockings, cookies, presents, decorations, and all of the Christmas magic often fall onto one parent. This comedy asks what would happen if moms didn’t do it all.
Eight Crazy Nights
Adam Sandler’s early 2000s animated Hanukkah movie is a beloved classic. The movie follows a rough-and-tumble character who is forced to referee youth basketball or go to jail. At the court, he meets an elderly referee. This leads him to an adventure he will never forget that takes place over, you guessed it, Eight Crazy Nights.
Trailer Park Boys Christmas Special
As usual, Julian hatched a plan to make some money. This time, at Christmas. The Trailer Park Boys Christmas Special (2004) brings viewers in on a 1997 trailer park holiday where the entire gang is up to their usual tricks. Ricky can’t seem to figure out the difference between God and Santa, while Bubbles just wants them all to get together for some fiery cheer. Those who love the boys may want to roll up their specialty Trailer Park Boys strains and tune in to this classic special.
Charlie Brown Christmas
The Charlie Brown Christmas tree is famous in theory, and this movie is where it all started. See how it all goes down for that little tree as Snoopy, Charlie, and all their buddies make appearances as Charlie tries to find the spirit of Christmas beyond toys and money. Though it was made in 1965, the moral of this story might be more prominent than ever.
Holiday movies are for everyone
While not everyone will partake in the weed, that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy the post-sesh film. These movies are bound to please a crowd, high or not. But those who choose to enjoy a bit of cannabis first may not regret it.
